Picture this, the kids are in bed, nothing pressing to do. What do you do with your time. How about a cut throat game of "the game." "What is the game?" you ask. Aubrey and I got fed up with raising cable prices so we ventured into the satellite TV market. Luckily we hit it right on the first try and got DirecTV. In addition to around 150 channels (and yes there is still nothing on Saturday afternoon) they have music channels.
The game is played like this. We select the music channels that we would know. For example, we have the 50's - 90's, country, (for Aubrey) pop, modern music, etc. We got rid of the rap and metal stations. With these channels selected, we start at the beginning (50's) and go. The screen remains blank and we try to guess the artist, name of song, and album. Then we can push the "info" button and it magically appears on the screen. In order to score any points you must get the artist. If you do that, you can also get points for song and album.
I know it sounds lame, but we usually start at 8:30 and go until 11:30. It never gets old. So if you have DirecTV and are total music trivia heads, go for it, it's loads of fun!
